The Puppets for Peace Spring Break Camp will provide youth with an interdisciplinary exploration of peacebuilding and non-violence through art, outdoor education, and peacebuilding workshops. Youth will explore the themes of local and global peacebuilding processes and non-violence through dialogue, and experiential learning. They will gain applied skills in conflict resolution and community building that they can use in school, with their friends and family. Participants will work in small cohorts (Cohort A – ages 10-13 and Cohort B – ages 14-17) for the first two days of the camp. The cohort will come together to collaboratively create a Puppets for Peace Play including script writing, acting/performance, and puppet making. At the end of the 4-day camp, all youth will have a deepened understanding of their role as peacemakers in their community and be participants in a Puppets for Peace Play which will be shared with the public through school and community performances.
