The Board of Directors of the Fairfield Community Association
will be doing business as (dba) the
Fairfield Gonzales Community Association
(FGCA).

The Board of the Association voted on Dec. 7, 2008, to make the public name change to Fairfield Gonzales Community Association, to acknowledge Gonzales Neighbourhood, as it has been for many years, an integral part of the Association.

By choosing the “doing business as” option, our legal name remains the same.  We will change printed material and other supplies as they are used up. Staff is making the appropriate changes, while trying to avoid any confusion in the community. Most changes will not affect the general public.

Our letterhead and website already reflect the change as will the January issue of the Moss Rock Review. Other changes will be rolled out by spring and the public will be informed though internal means and Public Service Announcements.

The determination of neighbourhood boundaries was made by the City Planning Department at least 35 years ago, primarily from land zoning clusters.  Our Board has members living in Gonzales, and have long worked together on the similar issues which affect Fairfield and Gonzales.

FCA Mural Project

We recently had a mural painted on the Emergency Services containers (located outside of the Garry Oak Room). Local artist, Caroline Stengl, designed the new look and with help from local youth the transformation was made over the sunny weeks of the summer. The colourful, coastal themed images will definitely brighten up the dreary winter days, so thanks Caroline for all your hard work!
