Community Yard Sale ~ Saturday May 27, 2017

A day of yard sales all around the Fairfield Gonzales neighbourhood, 9am – 1pm.

Register your sale with us by May 5th to get on the map, event@fairfieldcommunity.ca 

Shop  ~ Drop by our centre in the morning of the 27th to pick up a map & check out some other ways to reuse & recycle…

Booksale ~ May 27th,10 am – 1pm, 1330 Fairfield Rd. Stock up for your summer reading! Have books you want to unload? Drop them by our centre May 22-26, 9am – 4pm & we will add them to our booksale fundraiser, supporting FGCA programs.

Repair Cafe ~ May 27th, 10 am – 1pm, 1330 Fairfield Rd. A free event to which people can bring their damaged items from home (small appliances, clothes, bikes, furniture, electronics & more!)  to be repaired by volunteer “Fixers”. You can watch and even help!

Clothing Swap ~ May 27th,10 am – 1pm, 1330 Fairfield Rd. Bring along your old clothes to exchange for new duds, or come empty handed & fill up a bag! Please bring items in clean and gently used condition.

Plastics, Recycling & Bottle Drive ~ on  May 27th, 9am-11am at St Matthias Church 600 Richmond Ave.

 

Victoria-Beacon Hill ~ All Candidates Meeting

Sunday April 30th, 7pm Garry Oak Room, 1335 Thurlow Rd. The FGCA Board, in partnership with Rockland Neighbourhood Association, will be hosting an all candidates meeting for the provincial election. Note: part of Gonzales is now in the Oak Bay/Gordon Head riding, check the electoral map here.

 

Art at the Place ~ Alena ES Wildlife Photography

Opening Reception, Saturday May 6th 11:00am – 1:00pm, 1330 Fairfield Rd.  Alena Ebeling-Schuld is a conservation geographer and photographer who focuses primarily on wildlife and nature photography. Alena is based in BC and has photographed wildlife and nature around the world in countries including Canada, the USA, Ecuador, Colombia, South Africa, Madagascar, Mauritius, Nepal, India, Indonesia, Ecuador, Morocco, Jamaica and more.

 

Summer Camps

For ages 3-9 we have half-day Sportball MultiSport camps. For older kids, click here for details on our weekly,  all day Fairfield Community Summer Camps  (ages 5-12), EcoQuest Camp (ages 7-12),  Kayaking Camp (ages 8-12) and our FGCA Youth Summer Camp (ages 10-14).

 

Fairfield Artists Studio Tour

Saturday & Sunday May 6 & 7. This free, annual, self-guided tour provides art-lovers an opportunity to meet local artists, tour studios and view fine art including painting, pottery, glass, jewellery, textiles and photography.

 

Community Dinner

Sunday May 28th,  6pm – 8pm, 1335 Thurlow Rd (Garry Oak Room) This month we will be celebrating Aboriginal Awareness week. Come eat with us!
